Happy new year to all of you! I know that I am very late, but its never late than never. Starting the new year with a favourite recipe – Paneer Paratha. Paneer is an universal favourite, especially for vegetarians. This Paneer Paratha is an easy stuffed paratha variety which is perfect for a lunch box menu or for dinner. This is the most wanted in my son’s lunch box these days. It is easy to make as the stuffing does not need to be cooked. This Paneer Paratha can be served with a simple raita/pickle or any side dish of your choice. Do try my Lacha Paratha
Now to the recipe….
[Preparation Time-15 mins : Cooking Time- 10 mins]
Paneer Paratha Ingredients:
For the dough
- Wheat Flour – 1 cup
- Jeera /Cumin seeds – 1 tsp (Optional)
- Salt – as needed
- Oil/Ghee – 1 tbsp
For the stuffing:
- Paneer – 1 cup
- Chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Salt – as needed
- Coriander leaves – 1 tbsp (chopped)
Method:
- Take all the ingredients mentioned for the dough in a wide vessel and add water little by little to make a soft dough. Keep this covered.
- Take all the ingredients mentioned for the stuffing and mix well. Keep this aside.
- Pinch a medium sized dough and roll it into a small circle. Place a generous amount of paneer filling in the centre. Remember this paneer filling is the star of this paneer paratha so dont be stingy.
- Pinch all the edges of the dough to the centre and seal it on top. Flatten it slightly and dust the surface with flour.
- Roll the stuffed dough with light hands into a thick paratha. (Slighlty thicker than the normal chapathis/rotis) Heat a tawa and cook the stuffed paneer paratha evenly on both sides. Keep the flame in medium and press gently to ensure even cooking.
Yummy stuffed paneer paratha is ready.
Serve hot.
Tips:
- Fresh homemade paneer is the best for this recipe. U can use store bought ones too. Ensure there is no water in the paneer. If the stuffing is watery, it will be difficult to roll & the stuffing will spill out.
- U can use chopped green chillies instead of chilli powder. Garam masala can be added too.
- U can drizzle some oil or ghee while cooking the paneer parathas.
