Now to the recipe..[Preparation Time-15 mins : Cooking Time- 30 mins ]
Potato Bread Roll Ingredients:
- Bread slices – 6 to 8
- Potato – 1 & 1/2 cups (boiled & mashed)
- Green peas – 1/4 cup
- Salt – as needed
- Oil – 1 tsp + as needed to shallow fry
- Butter – as needed (melted)
- Chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Amchur powder – 1/8 tsp
- Garam Masala powder – 1/2 tsp
- Chaat Masala powder – 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric powder – 1/4 tsp
- Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp
- Coriander leaves – few
Method:
- Heat a pan with oil and temper with cumin seeds. Add boiled/mashed potato, green peas( I used frozen) along with salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder, chaat masala powder & garam masala. Mix well so that all the ingredients blend well.
- Add freshly chopped coriander leaves and mix well. Keep it aside. Stuffing is ready. Take a bread slice and trim the edges. Flatten it with a roller pin.
- Place the filling like a log. Roll the bread tightly and brush the edges with water. Seal the edges. The water will help the edges to stick together.
- Heat a pan with oil (just about a couple of tbsps will be enough). Place the sealed bread rolls in it. Brush it with melted butter and cook evenly on all sides until golden brown and crisp.
Thats it! Yummy Stuffed Bread Rolls ready!
Serve hot with ketchup.
Tips:
- U can use any of your favourite fillings like paneer, mixed vegetables. Just be creative. Cheese can be added too.
- U can smear some green chutney on the bread and then stuff the filling.
- Brown or white bread can be used.
