Godhuma Dosai – Instant Wheat Dosai

June 29, 2020 Breakfast/DinnerDosa Corner  4 comments

Godhuma Dosai is an easy and instant dosa variety made with wheat flour. This does not require any soaking or grinding/fermenting unlike the normal dosa. Its a low calorie recipe and perfect for those lazy days. I usually end up making this godhuma dosai when I really run out of dinner ideas. It tastes good with any spicy chutney or even idli milagai podi. Do check out the video to make it perfectly crispy 🙂

Here is the video…

Now to the recipe..

  • To this add finely chopped onions and saute until transparent. Add this to the godhuma dosai batter and mix.

  • The batter should be a little thinner than the normal dosa batter. Heat a tawa, when hot, pour a ladle full of the godhuma dosai batter and spread it in a circular motion. Drizzle some oil. Let it cook on one side and flip it once the edges turn crispy. Cook the other side in the same way and take it off the heat. Repeat, for the rest of the batter.

Quick Godhuma Dosai is ready.

Serve hot with any spicy chutney. I served with red coconut chutney.

Tips:

  1. U can add chopped green chillies instead of red chillies.
  2. U can add finely chopped onions to the batter without sauteing too.
  3. Use sambar onions for best taste. In that case use 1/4 cup chopped sambar onions.
  4. U can add some curry leaves or coriander leaves for extra flavour.
  5. This Godhuma Dosai tastes best when served hot. It will become soggy when it cools down.
