Kachumber Salad is nothing but cucumber salad. Rhyming isn’t it? This is a simple and refreshing salad with cucumber, onion and tomato. Can be made in a jiffy. Perfect to pair with roti, biryani varieties or can be consumed as is as a healthy snack. Its always good to include raw veggies in our diet. Am always in the look out for some raw veggies like cucumber, onion or tomato while having rotis. This is a mix of all 3 🙂 This salad is not only colourful and healthy but also tasty. Now to the recipe..
[Preparation Time-10 mins : Cooking Time- NIL]
Kachumber Salad Ingredients:
- Cucumber – 4 to 5 (small ones) Check Tips
- Tomato – 2 (small)
- Onion – 1 (small)
- Salt – a pinch
- Pepper(crushed) – as needed
- Lemon – 1/2
- Coriander leaves – few
Method:
- Wash and chop the cucumber. De-seed the tomato and chop it. Likewise chop the onion too. Take all this in a wide bowl. Add a pinch of salt and freshly crushed pepper as needed. Mix well.
- Squeeze in some fresh lemon juice. Finally add some coriander leaves and mix.
Thats it! Refreshing Kachumber Salad is ready!
Serve immediately.
Tips:
- For all my friends here, I have used the small cucumber which we get in Lidl. U can also use the big cucumber. De-seeding would be a better option so that the salad does not get soggy.
- U can add chopped green chillies too.
- Can add a pinch of jeera powder for an extra flavour.
- Make sure to make the salad just before serving, else it will become soggy.
