Paneer 65 – How to make Paneer 65

Paneer 65 is a very popular starter in any Indian restaurant menu. It is a spicy pakoda kind of snack that can be had with coffee/tea or as a starter. Paneer is an universal favourite especially for vegetarians. Chotu just loves paneer in any form. I made this Paneer 65 during the holidays and he could not resist to pick one while I was clicking the pics. U can see the result below 🙂 The only planning that u need to do is to marinate the paneer. Once that is done it is only a 15 min process.  Do try my Paneer Pakoda recipe..

Here is the video ..

Now to the recipe..

  • Curd – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – as needed
  • Pepper powder – 1/8 tsp

Method:

  • Take all the ingredients except oil and paneer in a wide bowl. Add little water and make a batter without any lumps. I used a whisk to do this.

Step_1062 Step_1066

  • The batter should be thick enough to coat the paneer cubes. It should neither be very thick nor very thin. Slice the paneer into rectangular pieces. U can cut into cubes too.

Step_1070 Step_1074

  • Add all the paneer pieces to the batter. Mix well so that all the pieces coat well. Keep it aside for 30 mins.

Step_1080 Step_1084

  • Heat oil in a pan and drop the marinated paneer pieces. Cook evenly on all sides until golden brown. Drain it in paper towels and serve hot.

Step_1091 Step_1097

Thats it!! Crispy Paneer 65 is ready!

Serve hot!!

Tips:

  1. Rice flour gives a crispy texture to the Paneer 65.
  2. Marinating the paneer in the batter enhances the flavour of the paneer. But if u are in a hurry, u can skip this step too.
  3. U can keep the marinated paneer in the refrigerator if u want to keep it for a longer time.
  4. While frying the marinated paneer it will stick to each other. Do not worry, it will be fine once it is fried.
  5. U can use lemon juice instead of curd.

My Magic Pan’s favourite pic EVER!! 🙂
