Paneer 65 is a very popular starter in any Indian restaurant menu. It is a spicy pakoda kind of snack that can be had with coffee/tea or as a starter. Paneer is an universal favourite especially for vegetarians. Chotu just loves paneer in any form. I made this Paneer 65 during the holidays and he could not resist to pick one while I was clicking the pics. U can see the result below 🙂 The only planning that u need to do is to marinate the paneer. Once that is done it is only a 15 min process. Do try my Paneer Pakoda recipe..
Here is the video ..
Now to the recipe..
[Preparation Time-10 mins : Cooking Time- 10 mins : Marinating Time – 30 mins]
Paneer 65 Ingredients:
- Paneer – 1 packet ( 200 gms)
- Maida – 1/4 cup
- Corn flour – 1/8 cup
- Rice flour – 1 tbsp
- Curd – 1 tbsp
- Salt – as needed
- Pepper powder – 1/8 tsp
- Chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Garam masala – 1/8 tsp
- Amchur(dry mango powder) – 1/8 tsp
- Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tsp
- Oil – to fry
Method:
- Take all the ingredients except oil and paneer in a wide bowl. Add little water and make a batter without any lumps. I used a whisk to do this.
- The batter should be thick enough to coat the paneer cubes. It should neither be very thick nor very thin. Slice the paneer into rectangular pieces. U can cut into cubes too.
- Add all the paneer pieces to the batter. Mix well so that all the pieces coat well. Keep it aside for 30 mins.
- Heat oil in a pan and drop the marinated paneer pieces. Cook evenly on all sides until golden brown. Drain it in paper towels and serve hot.
Thats it!! Crispy Paneer 65 is ready!
Serve hot!!
Tips:
- Rice flour gives a crispy texture to the Paneer 65.
- Marinating the paneer in the batter enhances the flavour of the paneer. But if u are in a hurry, u can skip this step too.
- U can keep the marinated paneer in the refrigerator if u want to keep it for a longer time.
- While frying the marinated paneer it will stick to each other. Do not worry, it will be fine once it is fried.
- U can use lemon juice instead of curd.
My Magic Pan’s favourite pic EVER!! 🙂
