This Honey Mug Cake is an anytime “little” treat. Can be made in just 2 mins in a microwave with simple ingredients available in your pantry. I happened to buy a
cookbaking book last week. Was really excited to try this Honey Cake immediately. Perfect single serving! Its a coincidence that I am posting it today. Happy Children’s day to all your kids and the kid in each and everyone of u! 🙂 Try my Eggless Coffee Walnut Mug Cake if u are a coffee lover! Check out the video..Here is the video..
Now to the recipe..
[Preparation Time-5 mins : Microwaving Time- 2 mins]
Honey Mug Cake Ingredients:
- Self Raising Flour – 4 tbsp (see tips)
- Butter – 2 tbsp
- Egg – 1 (see tips)
- Honey – 2 tbsp
- Sugar – 2 tbsp
- Vanilla essence – 1/2 tsp
- Salt – a pinch
Method:
- Take 2 tbps of butter in a microwave safe mug. Microwave for 10 seconds until melted.
- Add 1 egg and 2 tbsps of honey to it.
- Add vanilla essence to it. Mix it well so that all the ingredients combine well.
- Add 2 tbsps of sugar to it. I have used brown sugar. Add self raising flour to it.
- Mix until all the ingredients are combined. Microwave it for 2 mins. Check it with a tooth pick. It must come out clean.
Thats it! Yummy Honey Mug Cake ready!
Serve with your favourite topping once cooled completely.
I just topped it with butter and a drizzle of honey!
Tips:
- U can use plain flour instead of self raising flour. Use 1/8th tsp of baking powder if using plain flour.
- If u want to omit egg, use 1/4 cup yogurt instead.
- I have not greased the mug before baking, just enjoyed it as is. If u want to serve it separately, grease the mug with a little butter/oil and then bake.
- It took 2 mins in my microwave (850 watts). Timings may vary based on the power of your microwave.
- Do not over-bake the cake. Else it will become hard and rubbery.
- This cake will rise while baking, but will not overflow. U can use a mug or any microwave proof bowl/ramekins.
- It might look sticky when hot, let it cool for a while and enjoy!!
