May 25, 2021 Biryani/Pulao, Keerai/Spinach, Rice Varieties
-
Spinach Biryani is an easy and nutritious one pot meal, perfect for lunch boxes. This Spinach Biryani happened on the day I had nothing in the fridge except for spinach. We were in no mood for Spinach Kootu, rice etc etc. All we wanted was Biryani 🙂 Trust me, this tasted totally yumm! We loved the aroma that filled the house and while opening the cooker. It was just wow! I was actually wondering if I should grind the spinach or use it as is. Ended up with the second choice. Shall update here when I try the other here. Post updated with video..

Without the addition of any corn flour or maida, this soup tends to be thick on its own due to the addition of potatoes. Its a mess free one pot soup! How cool is that!?! Vadai is a popular South Indian snack. This Keerai Vadai is a perfect tea time snack. Its crispy outside and soft inside. Usually in the local tea shops they make it as masal vadai/paruppu vadai (with chana dal). I prefer it with urad dal as Chotu likes the Medhu Vadai best!! So I am more than happy to make this as I can add some spinach leaves to it Its the best snack to have on a cold/rainy day over a cup of coffee or tea.

Poori and tomato thokku has always been my favourite combo since childhood. This Palak Poori is a slight twist to the normal poori. Its a very good method to sneak-peek some spinach for kids who are fussy about it. This does not require any side dish as such, just goes well with any pickle or simple raita. You can serve it for breakfast/dinner or pack it for kids lunch. Am sure kids would love the green color Palak Poori.
