Tawa Burger is a delicious Indian Street Style Burger with veggies and paneer. Its spicy, masaledar and yummy. Street style foods are always a favourite. I would prefer the simplicity of street food rather than the ones from restaurants. This is one such recipe. All you need is some burger buns and this can be made quickly. Am sure you will love this flavour loaded, masala burger made on the tawa. Do try my Tawa Pulao recipe if you love street food.

Now to the recipe..
[Preparation Time-10 mins : Cooking Time- 30 mins]
Tawa Burger Ingredients:
- Burger Bun – 4
- Onion – 2
- Tomato – 2
- Capsicum – 1 each of 2 colours
- Potato – 1
- Carrot – 1
- Paneer – 2 cup (cubed)
- Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tsp
- Salt – as needed
- Chilli powder – 1 tsp
- Chaat Masala – 1/2 tsp
- Pav Bhaji Masala – 1 tsp
- Cheese – 1/4 cup
- Coriander leaves – few
Method:
- Heat a pan with butter and add finely chopped onion. Saute until it turns golden brown. Now add ginger-garlic paste and saute until raw smell goes off.
- Add chopped tomatoes and capsicum. I have used 2 colours here. Saute until tomatoes turn mushy. Now add boiled potato and carrot. Further add salt, chilli powder, chaat masala & pav bhaji masala powder. Mix to combine.
- Mash the mixture coarsely with a potato masher. Now add finely cubed paneer, grated cheese and coriander leaves. Mix to combine.
- The stuffing is ready now. Switch off and keep it aside. Take the burger bun and slit it upto 3/4th, not fully. Spread the stuffing generously.
- Heat a tawa and add butter, coriander leaves, chopped onion, chaat masala and pav bhaji masala. Place the stuffed burger on the tawa and toast evenly on both sides until golden brown.
Sprinkle some cheese and coriander leaves on top.
Lip-smacking Tawa Burger ready. Serve hot!
Tips:
- You can add veggies of your choice. Cauliflower, peas and sweet corn can be added too.
- You can make the stuffing ahead and make the tawa burger when needed.
- A dash of tomato sauce can be added for more flavour.
- Cheese is totally optional, you can skip if you do not prefer.
