Wishing u all a very happy Diwali. I am sure all of you are ready with your preparations. This Pista Badam Burfi is a simple last minute sweet for all those busy people. This version is made with condensed milk. All u need are a few simple ingredients. If u do not want to use condensed milk, check my Kaju Katli recipe and replace it with pista/badam powder. Unlike other traditional sweets like Mysore Pak this does not need a lot of ghee. This can be made in 15-20 mins. Post with video..
Here is the video..
Now to the recipe..
[Preparation Time-5 mins : Cooking Time- 20 mins]
Pista Badam Burfi Ingredients:
- Pistachios – 3/4th cup
- Badam/Almond – 3/4th cup
- Condensed Milk – 1 can (400 gms)
- Cardamom powder – a pinch
- Ghee – 1 tsp
- Crushed nuts – to decorate
Method:
- Take a mixer and grind the pista and badam into a powder. Grind it in one go without stopping so that the nuts do not release oil. Heat a pan and add the condensed milk + powdered nuts.
- Keep stirring in medium heat. Add a tsp of ghee and green food colour(if using) and mix well. It will get thick.
- Add cardamom powder and mix well. It will become non-sticky and leave the sides of the pan. This is the right stage. Transfer to a greased tray.
- Level it with a spoon or spatula. Top it with crushed nuts. Press it gently and slice it while it is still warm. Enjoy!
Thats it! Sumptuous Pista Badam Burfi ready!
Enjoy this Diwali.
Tips:
- As I have mentioned above, if u do not want to use condensed milk, pls follow my Kaju Katli recipe.
- This sweet is more like a fudge, quite soft unlike other burfi’s..
- Using food colour is totally optional. Skip if u dont want.
- This is a perfect sweet to make for beginners.
