Besan Ladoo or Besan Ke Laddu has been in my to do list since a long time. Finally made it with video 🙂 Its so simple to make. Trust me all u need is just 30 mins and Tadaaa these melt in the mouth golden beauties would be ready! Ingredients are simple too. The key to the best Besan Ladoo is roasting the besan or chickpea flour perfectly else it would not taste good. Scroll down to see all the tips and tricks. Do check my favourite Coconut Laddu too.

Besan Ladoo My Magic Pan

[Preparation Time-10 mins : Cooking Time- 20 mins]

Besan Ladoo Ingredients:

  • Besan/Chickpea Flour – 1 cup
  • Sugar – 1/2 cup
  • Ghee – 1/4 cup + 1 tbsp
  • Cardamom – 3
  • Cashew – few

  • Add 1/4 cup ghee to a pan and keep in simmer. Sift 1 cup besan/chickpea flour to it. Sifting helps to avoid any lumps.

  • Mix so that ghee and besan are combined well. First it will resemble crumbles. Add 1 tbsp of ghee to it and continue to roast. Keep the flame in low throughout. It will come together and look like a sticky mass.

  • It will turn aromatic, look golden brown and start releasing ghee in about 20 mins. This is the perfect stage. Transfer it to a bowl and let it cool.

  • Grind sugar along with cardamom into a fine powder. Check the roasted besan. It must be still warm. Add the powdered sugar to it.

  • Add roasted cashewnuts to it. Mix well to combine. U can use a spoon or use your hands to mix it. The whole mixture should be moist and hold shape. Shape it into ladoos.

Thats it! Delicious melt in the mouth Besan Ladoo ready.

Store in an air tight container.

  1. Keep the flame on low throughout the roasting process.
  2. The key to the best Besan Laddu lies in the roasting process so do not under/over roast.
  3. It will give a nice aroma and release ghee. Thats the perfect stage. Check video.
  4. Yields 12 ladoos with the above mentioned quantity.
  5. Use pure ghee for best taste.
