Brownies are always a favourite at home. Eggless Brownies is such an easy, no fail recipe that any novice can make it perfectly. As u all know or rather I have repeatedly said ” Baking is like working in a chemistry lab for me” So when I can make it, you all can make it too. I felt as happy as when I baked the No Alcohol Christmas Cake. I have been making this batch after batch since I made it the 1st time. Chotu just loves it. 🙂 It is perfect with a scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream or even with a simple glass of plain milk. Do check out the video..
Here is the video..
Now to the recipe..[Preparation Time-10 mins : Cooking Time- 30 to 35 mins]
Eggless Brownies Ingredients:
- All Purpose Flour – 1 & 1/2 cups
- Cocoa Powder – 1/3 cup
- Dark Chocolate Bar – 1 (200 gms)
- Sugar – 1/4 cup
- Brown Sugar – 1/4 cup
- Butter – 3/4 cup
- Yogurt – 1/4 cup
- Milk – 1/4 cup
- Oil – 1 tbsp (see tips)
- Baking Powder – 1/2 tsp
- Baking Soda – 1/4 tsp
- Salt – 1/4 tsp
Method:
- Grate the chocolate and take half of it along with the butter in a wide bowl. Microwave it for a minute until melted. Mix well to combine. It should be smooth and silky.
- Add both the sugars. Mix well to combine. Add the yogurt and milk.
- Mix to combine. It should be smooth and silky. Now add in the oil and mix well. Seive in the all purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda & salt. This is to prevent lumps if any.
- Cut and fold the mixture until smooth and without lumps. Do not over mix. Transfer it to a greased/dusted baking tin. U can line it with parchment paper too.
- Add the remaining half of the grated chocolate to it. Mix randomly with a spatula. Bake it in a pre-heated oven @ 180 degrees Celsius for 30-35 mins or until an inserted tooth pick comes out clean.
Thats it! Eggless Brownies ready!
Cool completely and cut it into squares. Enjoy!
Tips:
- Adding a tbsp of oil gives a fudgy texture. Do not skip it.
- Use cut and fold method to mix. Do not over mix, else the brownies would become tough.
- I have used both brown sugar and normal sugar. Brown sugar gives a unique texture. U can skip if not available but would recommend to use it.
- U can add all of the grated chocolate in one go initially too.
- Use good quality cocoa powder.
