Pudina Chaas – Mint Chaas – Mint Flavoured Buttermilk

June 13, 2014 DrinksHoli RecipesSummer Special  3 comments

Chaas is nothing but buttermilk. Pudina Chaas is a simple, yet refreshing drink that is perfect for summer months. It is made with yogurt, a bursting punch of mint leaves & a dash of roasted cumin seeds. It is good to include this Pudina Chaas as a regular part of our diet, as it not only acts as a summer cooler but also helps in digestion.

Now to the recipe…

  • In a blender take washed mint leaves, green chilly & ginger. Grind it coarsely. To this add yogurt, water, roasted cumin powder and required salt.

  • Blend all the ingredients for 1-2 mins or until it gets frothy. Strain it into a jar with a strainer and discard the waste. This step is purely optional, as I dont like any bits & pieces in my Pudina Chaas.

Tips:

  1. U can add a pinch of black salt as per your taste buds.
  2. U can add more/less water for a thinner/thicker version of Pudina Chaas.
  3. Use chilled curd/yogurt or chill the Pudina Chaas before serving.
  4. U can skip the green chilly & ginger, but it definitely adds that zing to the drink!!
