Chocolate Ice Cream – No Ice Cream Machine
June 16, 2016 Ice Creams, Summer Special
-
Fortunately summer is good here this time!! Chocolate flavour in an ice cream is Chotu’s recent favourite. So now u know the reason for this Chocolate Ice Cream recipe right 🙂 Again this is a no fail and easy ice cream recipe without using an ice cream machine. As u all know I dont own an ice cream machine, nor do I have plans to buy one!! All u need is a hand mixer/blender. If u dont have, nobody can stop u from making this yummy Chocolate Ice Cream, just check my tips section 🙂
Now to the recipe..
[Preparation Time-20 mins : Freezing Time- 6-8 hrs or overnight ]
Ingredients:
- Cream (with a min fat content of 35%) – 1 cup
- Milk – 1/2 cup
- Powdered Sugar – 3/4th cup
- Cocoa Powder – 1/4 cup
- Chocolate Sauce – 3 tbsp (optional)
- Choco Chips – 1/4 cup (optional)
Method:
- Take cream in a wide bowl. Make sure it is absolutely chilled. Beat with a hand blender until it reaches soft peaks. It will almost double in volume.
- Sieve in the powdered sugar and cocoa powder. This is just to make sure there are no lumps in it. Add the chocolate sauce if using.
- Mix well first and then beat it with your blender until all the ingredients mix well. This will hardly take a minute. Do not over beat it, we just need stiff peak consistency here. Now add the milk and blend well. The consistency will now be a little runny but thick and creamy. Finally add the chocolate chips and mix.
- Pour it in a freezer safe container and freeze it for 6-8 hours or overnight. No need blend it in between freezing. Once frozen completely, scoop out and serve.
Thats it!! Creamy Chocolate Ice Cream is ready!!
Serve in a cone or cup!!
Tips:
- Use cream with a minimum fat content of 35%
- This Chocolate Ice Cream does not need to be blended in between freezing. No ice crystals will be formed. Creaminess guaranteed!!
- Adding chocolate sauce gives an extra chocolaty taste. U can skip it if not available.
- U can use a normal mixie/mixer to make this ice cream if u do not have an electric beater. It might only take a few seconds to get the right consistency. So be careful and do not over do, else u would end up making butter and not ice cream.
- After the Chocolate Ice Cream is set, leave it in room temperature for a few mins and then scoop and serve.
Creamy and tasty ice cream!
