Homemade Veg Pizza

Making Pizza at home was a longtime wish for me.. It’s my first attempt and it did turn out well 🙂 This homemade Veg Pizza is a pizza recipe from the scratch. The pizza base is without any yeast, so its a super quick and easy recipe . Doesn’t that sound good?

Now to the recipe..

Ingredients:

For the dough:

  • All purpose flour / Maida – 2 1/2 cups
  • Baking powder – 2 3/4 tsp
  • Salt – as needed
  • Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Water – as needed

For the topping:

  • Pizza Sauce – 2 tbsp (Refer here for recipe)
  • Onion -1 small
  • Capsicum – 1/2 of 2 colors
  • Cheese (Any kind, I used mozzarella) – as needed
  • Pepper powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Oregano – 1 tsp

Method:

  • Take a wide vessel and sieve flour & baking powder together so that they blend well. Add salt, oil and required water and knead to a soft dough.

  • Keep this covered. Meanwhile get the veggies chopped. Dust a floor with some flour to get the pizza base ready.Preheat the oven to 200 deg C.

  • Flatten the dough with a rolling pin or with your hands and fold the edge as shown in the picture. Place the pizza base on a dusted oven proof pan. Spread the pizza sauce on it.

  • Arrange the toppings as per your choice. Add a generous amount of grated cheese to cover the toppings.

  • Bake it in the preheated oven for 15-20 mins or until the pizza is golden brown and the cheese is melted. Sprinkle pepper powder and oregano. Cut the pizza with a pizza cutter or knife.

Tips:

  1. The dough should be soft and pliable. I have not used yeast to make the pizza dough, still it was soft and fluffy. Will post a recipe with yeast soon.
  2. U can use any toppings of your choice. Be liberal in adding cheese & at the same time do not over load too.
  3. The baking time differs from oven to oven, so keep an eye.
