Easy 10 Min Palkova – Microwave Palkova

🙂 🙂 🙂 U may wonder why I am beginning this post with a smiley!!! Its my 100th post!!! Yes!!! I cant believe it myself.. Would like to thank each one of you for all your support & encouragement!!!

To celebrate it, I am posting a simple & quick sweet – 10 Min Palkova!!! Cant believe it?? This can be made in just under 10 mins. This is a perfect sweet for sudden cravings.

Palkova is an Indian milk sweet – The traditional method, though simple is a time consuming process. I have already posted the traditional method earlier. Click here for the recipe..

Now lets get to the 10 Min Palkova recipe…

[Preparation Time-5 mins : Cooking Time- 10 mins]

Ingredients:

• Sweetened Condensed Milk – 1 can
• Curd / yogurt – 2 tsp
• Pistachios – few to garnish (optional)

Method:

• Take a microwave safe bowl and add condensed milk & yogurt. Mix well & microwave for 2 mins, stirring it frequently. It will be just watery as u can see in the pic below.

• Microwave for another minute. It will still be watery as in the first pic. Out of the microwave, stir & another one min. The mixture will start to curdle.

• Microwave for another 2 mins stirring it frequently. Keep an eye always as it might overflow the bowl. 1st pic is after 5th min & 2nd pic after 6th min. It will start changing color.

• Finally microwave it for another 2 mins. It will be a little moist. Do not microwave beyond this point, as it will tend to thicken once it cools down. 1st pic is after the final min & the 2nd pic after cooling down for 5-10 mins.

That’s it !!! 10 Min Palkova is ready. Garnish with chopped pistachios.

How simple & quick is that?!?

Alwarthirunagari is very famous for this Palkova. Its my all time favourite too. This 10 Min Palkova was a big hit in my family. Chotu just loved it and hubby said “It tastes just like the one we get in Alwarthirunagari” . What a compliment !! 🙂

Tips:

1. Keep an eye always, do not walk away from the microwave at any time as it will overflow the bowl in the first few mins and might get burnt in the last few mins.
2. Microwave timings may differ depending upon your microwave. Mine took exactly 8 mins.
3. U will have to stop & start the microwave when the mixture raises up, take it out stir & start again.
4. When it is still moist, stop the process. If u microwave further to remove the moisture completely, it will become dry when it cools down.
