March 6, 2019 Halwa RecipesHoli Recipes  No comments

Bread Halwa is a such a simple sweet to make for sudden cravings or surprise guests. I had a few bread slices that was about to get stale. So made this quick halwa and it tasted just yumm! Nobody at home was able to find out that this was made out of bread. The best part is that all the ingredients needed for this halwa will usually be able in your pantry. No fancy ingredients needed. My favourite halwa is Potato Halwa. But unlike that halwa this can be made in just 20 mins. Recipe with video… 🙂

Kasi Halwa – White Pumpkin Halwa

July 19, 2018 Diwali SweetsHalwa RecipesHoli RecipesPumpkin/White PumpkinSweets/Desserts  One comment

Kasi Halwa is a very popular South Indian Halwa served in weddings. It is nothing but Halwa made out of grated white pumpkin (also known as ash gourd). The only job is to grate white pumpkin. It can be made very quickly and easily. Does not require a lot of ghee unlike this Atta Halwa. Love the glossy texture of this Halwa. I have had no plans of making this halwa at home as we hardly get White Pumpkin here. So when I happened to see it during my shopping, was so excited that I almost bought half of a big sized pumpkin. Only after reaching home did I realise the weight & price. Its so damn costly here 🙁  But after making this halwa, was so happy and totally forgot everything 🙂

Strawberry Ice Cream – Ice Cream Recipes

July 14, 2018 Holi RecipesIce Creams  One comment

Strawberries are in season. I am not a big fan of strawberries as such, just like the look of it and its attractive colour. But I love the smell and flavour in the Strawberry Ice Cream. This is yet another simple no churn ice cream. U dont need an ice cream machine or hand blender, a normal mixie jar would do the job perfectly. And also no need to whip it every 2 hours unlike this Custard Powder Ice Cream. Easy is it not!?! Utilise the summer/strawberry season and enjoy! 🙂

Strawberry Milkshake – Milkshake Recipes

June 5, 2018 DrinksHoli RecipesSummer Special  One comment

Strawberry is not a fruit that I fancy eating much, just because they are sour most of the times. But love the look and flavour of it. So always transform the fruit into a sorbet or popsicle as I have already done. This season made a simple Strawberry Milkshake which is a very easy & yummy milkshake with very few ingredients. This is a thick and creamier milkshake as I have used ice cream as well. U can skip the ice cream if u dont prefer it. Also made Strawberry Ice Cream, recipe coming soon 🙂

I have been craving for some kulfi since a long time. As mangoes are in season made this Mango Kulfi. This is a short cut version of the traditional method with condensed milk and cream. Saw this recipe in milkmaid website and tweaked it a bit to arrive at this recipe. Trust me this is so easy and can be made in a few mins. But the boring part is to wait for it to freeze/set. Its worth it! 🙂 The smell of mangoes along with cream and cardamom is divine! Do check my simple Mango Ice Cream recipe too..

Atta Halwa – Whole Wheat Flour Halwa

Atta Halwa or whole Wheat Flour Halwa is an easy sweet/dessert that can be made in less than 20 mins. This is a no fail recipe. With just 3 ingredients, this is a quick sweet for sudden cravings or any special occasion. This halwa is smooth, moist & it will just melt in your mouth. My mom makes this when she makes ghee. She uses the same pan in which she makes ghee to make this Atta Halwa, the idea being – ghee sticking to the pan will not go waste. Am wondering myself, how I missed to post this recipe here for so long. Anyways here it is, the humble Wheat Flour Halwa. This is a very good combo with Poori in North India.
