Coconut Chutney is the most wanted chutney in any South Indian household for idli/dosa. This Ginger Coconut Chutney is a simple and flavourful one for idli/dosa. It can be made in just 10 mins. [Preparation Time-10 mins : Cooking Time- 5 mins]
Ingredients:
- Coconut – 1/2 cup (grated)
- Ginger – 1 inch piece
- Green chillies – 2
- Tamarind paste – 1/4 tsp
- Salt – as needed
- Oil – 1 tsp
- Mustard – 1 tsp
- Curry leaves – a sprig
Method:
- Take grated coconut, green chillies, ginger, salt & tamarind paste in a mixer. Grind it into a semi coarse paste with little water. Heat a pan with oil and temper with mustard and curry leaves. Transfer it to the chutney.
Thats it!! Ginger Coconut Chutney is ready!!
Serve with idli/dosa.
Tips:
- U can use red chillies instead of green chillies and make it as a red coconut chutney too.
- Adjust green chillies as per your taste preferences.
- Do not miss to add ginger. It gives a unique flavour to the chutney.
