Sweet Appam is a very easy to make sweet during festival seasons. This version does not require any soaking/grinding. You can make it with the usually available ingredients from your kitchen. U just need to mix some ingredients, and shallow fry it in a paniyaram pan. How cool is that?!? Do try my Rava Sweet Paniyaram as well.

Now to the recipe.

Sweet Appam My Magic Pan

  • Rice Flour – 1 cup
  • Jaggery – 1 cup
  • Elaichi Powder – 1 pinch
  • Ripe banana- 1

  • Soak jaggery (till immersing level of water) for 10 mins. Heat it until it bubbles, no consistency is required. Strain to remove impurities and keep aside. Mash banana into a smooth paste . Sweet Appam My Magic Pan

  1. The batter consistency should be that of dosa batter. Add less water to jaggery else the batter may become watery. If the batter is thick you can add water to get the required consistency.
  2. If you dont have a paniyaram pan, you can use ghee/oil to fry in a kadai. But only one can be made in a batch .
  3. You can add small pieces of coconut or chopped and roasted cashews to the batter for extra taste.
