Bhindi Masala – Spicy Stuffed Bhindi Masala

Spicy Stuffed Bhindi Masala or Okra Masala is a dry sabji suitable for roti, poori & rice too. The mild sweetness of okra along with the spices is totally divine. If u want to make a gravy with Bhindi try this Bhindi Gravy.
Now to the recipe…
Bhindi Masala Ingredients:
- Bhindi / Okra – 20 – 25 nos
- Onions – 2 large
- Curd/Yogurt – 1 tbsp
- Coriander Powder – 2 tbsp
- Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
- Cumin Powder – 1 tsp
- Oil – 3 tbsp
- Salt – as needed
Method:
- Wash bhindi and dry them with a kitchen towel. Trim the head & tail of it, slit it and keep aside. Chop onions roughly and grind it into a paste.
- Heat a pan with half of the oil and add the onion paste and fry until all the moist is evaporated. Add salt, chilli powder, coriander powder & cumin powder and fry for a minute until all the ingredients blend well. Keep this aside and let it to cool. Stuffing is ready.
- Now fill the slit bhindi with the stuffing. Heat the same pan with the rest of the oil and add the stuffed bhindi. Sprinkle a tbsp of curd and cook covered in low flame .Once cooked flip the bhindi’s to the other side and cook evenly until they are soft and tender.
Serve hot with roti or rice!!
Tips:
- Select small, fresh and tender bhindi’s when u buy.
- Adding curd helps to cook the bhindi’s quickly.
- U can alternatively cook the stuffed bhindis in a microwave with less oil, but u know which tastes better 🙂
