May 25, 2021 Biryani/PulaoKeerai/SpinachRice Varieties  No comments

Spinach Biryani is an easy and nutritious one pot meal, perfect for lunch boxes. This Spinach Biryani happened on the day I had nothing in the fridge except for spinach. We were in no mood for Spinach Kootu, rice etc etc. All we wanted was Biryani 🙂 Trust me, this tasted totally yumm! We loved the aroma that filled the house and while opening the cooker. It was just wow! I was actually wondering if I should grind the spinach or use it as is. Ended up with the second choice. Shall update here when I try the other here. Post updated with video..

Paneer is always a hit at home. This Paneer Pulao is yet another super hit recipe with paneer. This is a super quick pulao variety, no grinding here since I was not in the mood to grind 🙂 Unlike biryani where you have to wait for the tomatoes to turn mushy and oil ooze out, this can be done quickly. I have added a few veggies here which is totally optional. An one pot meal which is yummy and perfect for those lazy days and for lunch boxes too. Check out the quick video.. This can be served with a simple onion raita or any gravy of your choice. Check Gravy Recipes HERE.

October 30, 2019 Biryani/PulaoLunch Box MenuMixed VegRice Varieties  No comments

Tawa Pulao or Pav Bhaji Pulao is a popular street style Pulao of Mumbai. Street vendors use a big sized tawa. I simply love the way they make Pav Bhaji. Wanted to try this Tawa Pulao since a long time but wanted to try a small amount as to fit my size of Tawa. Made it on a day when I cooked lunch only for me 🙂 Made this just to post it here, otherwise would have ended up eating noodles or Pasta. Came out very well. Apparently just gave a taster to my boys and made it again the next day on popular demand. 🙂 Check the video..

Its been a long time since I posted any biryani recipe here. This Chana Biryani or Chickpeas Biryani is an aromatic, protein packed biryani perfect to pack for lunch. It is a simple and easy recipe too. All u have to plan for is the soaking time of chana/chickpeas. My all time favourite is this humble Tomato Biryani. Since chana/chickpeas take a long time to cook, we have just have one extra step by cooking it separately first and then making the biryani. But that can be done simultaneously thus saving time.
