I have always wanted to try Parwal. Made this Aloo Parwal Sabzi long time ago. Tastes really yum and the procedure is pretty simple and straightforward. As far as I know, Parwal is very famous in Bengali cuisine. Am always in the lookout for some different sabzi varieties to go with phulkas. This Aloo Parwal Sabzi paired really well with rotis. You can wrap it and pack as a lunch box item. You can serve with dal if you like it as an elaborate meal.

Spring Onion is a veggie which many of u might use just to garnish in salads or soups. This Spring Onion Sabji is a simple yet yummy side dish to go with chapathi or even rice. This is Chotu’s favourite. Chopping spring onion might take some time but it is not a difficult task. It will reduce in amount once it gets cooked so u might have to watch out the amount of spring onion u need for your family. Trust me, this sabji is so unique and flavourful. Brinjal is my all time favourite! I can eat brinjal in any form. This Stuffed Brinjal Fry is a simple and flavourful curry to go with rice or roti. The freshly ground masala does the magic here. Usually the stuffing will be made with peanuts and sesame seeds. Since am not a big fan of that combo, have changed the flavours according to our taste buds. If u are like me, try this combo. Have given the usual masala powder option in the tips. Ennai Kathirkkai is my favourite too.

I always try to make some variations in making potato fry. This Garlic Potato Fry is yet another simple and lip-smacking, spicy fry. With simple ingredients that are usually available in the pantry, this Garlic Potato Fry can be made in a jiffy.

February 9, 2016 Chow ChowDry Sabji  5 comments

Chayote, known as chow chow in tamil is usually made as a kootu in any South Indian household. I make this Chow Chow Fry quite often than kootu. This fry goes well with roti and rice. So whenever I make this, Chotu has it with rice and we have it as a roti wrap for lunch. Two in one purpose solved right?!? This veggie takes very less time to cook and is a super easy recipe.

Do try my Chow Chow Chutney too!!
