February 6, 2022 Dry SabjiPotato Recipes  No comments

I have always wanted to try Parwal. Made this Aloo Parwal Sabzi long time ago. Tastes really yum and the procedure is pretty simple and straightforward. As far as I know, Parwal is very famous in Bengali cuisine. Am always in the lookout for some different sabzi varieties to go with phulkas. This Aloo Parwal Sabzi paired really well with rotis. You can wrap it and pack as a lunch box item. You can serve with dal if you like it as an elaborate meal.

Seppankizhangu is a variety of potato also known as Arbi, Colocasia, Taro Root but with a sticky nature. All I know is Seppankizhangu 🙂  This Seppankizhangu Fry is a simple side dish for rice along with sambar,  rasam or mor kuzhambu. It is everybody’s favourite in my family. I love seppankizhangu to the core. My most fav combo is with Mor Kuzhambu. Because of its sticky nature, Chotu calls this as sticky potato. Amma tempers this Seppankizhangu fry with ajwain. It gives such a magical aroma & taste to it. For another version of this try this RECIPE.

Aloo Poori – Potato Poori

Aloo Poori is a delicious poori flavoured with potato and spices. The golden colour of this poori is really very attractive for kids. It is a good method to get the hidden benefits of the veggie for those totally fussy kids. Poori is always my favourite since childhood. Poori & tomato thokku is my most wanted combo. This would be my standard demand on my birthday’s! 🙂 I served this Aloo Poori too with the same thakkali thokku, though this can be had without a side dish as it is fully flavoured.

Sweet Potato Tawa Fry – Sweet Potato Fry

September 25, 2017 Kootu / Poriyal VarietiesPotato Recipes  One comment

Tawa frying veggies has been my long time wish. I have seen many people tawa frying yam. I made this Sweet Potato Tawa Fry last week and it was a super hit. I somehow feel like making some non-veg as it resembles fish fry. Sweet Potatoes were the best to tawa fry as they get cooked very quickly. They were sweet, spicy, crispy.. Yumm!! I guess this will be on repeat mode for a while. 🙂 All u need is to plan 30 mins for the marinating part, otherwise it can be made in just 15 mins. Check my sweet potato fry recipe too.
