It can be accompanied with steamed rice too. This is a perfect salad to kick start the day or as a snack too, Colourful and attractive 🙂 When I think of carrot, the 1st thing that comes to my mind is Carrot Halwa. Hehe thats typically me 🙂

This lunch menu is a Biryani Meal along with a gravy. Made this on a weekend. On the plate is Veg Biryani, Ennai Kathirikkai, Onion Raita(my hubby’s style) & Potato chips (store bought). We love to switch to this menu in between the boring kuzhambu, rasam & poriyal meals. Usually biryani would be paired with just the onion raita. This time paired it with Ennai Kathirikkai, my all time favourite combo.

Pickles

I never had any idea of making a pickle out of green grapes. I had bought 2 packs of grapes during my last week shopping. These green grapes happened to be so sour that could not be consumed happily as a fruit, so ended up making this Green Grapes Pickle. Trust me it tasted just yumm! Sour, sweet, spicy & flavourful! This is yet another instant pickle variety and can be made in 5 mins literally. Recipe with video 🙂 Which is your all time favourite pickle? Mine is this simple Tomato Thokku

Diwali Snacks, Snacks / Starters
-
Kara Sev is an Indian snack made with besan/chickpea flour. It is a crunchy, easy to make snack. Perfect for special occasions like Diwali or even as a tea time snack. Usually it is made by pressing the dough on a perforated ladle directly into hot oil. I have used a murukku press for convenience. Do check my plain Sev/Om Podi recipe too. Savoury snacks are always a favourite at home. It just vanishes very soon. So do not have to wait for a special occasion to make it. Recipe with video.

November 19, 2018
Paneer Dishes
-
Paneer Jalfrezi is a simple and delicious sabzi variety to go with roti, naan or paratha. It is a semi-dry dish, more like a stir fry with full of flavours. Though Paneer Butter Masala is my all time favourite, this has become a recent favourite too, may be because of the simplicity in making it. No grinding or any long procedure involved. All u need are a few ingredients and this can be made in 15-20 mins. This can wrapped in roti/chapathi and served as a perfect lunch for kids/adults. Recipe with video..

Kunukku Recipe – Adai Mavu Kunukku
October 1, 2018
Snacks / Starters
-
Kunukku is a simple deep fried snack made with rice and lentils. This is made from left over adai batter. If u have some left over adai batter this can be made in no time. So next time when u grind adai batter, plan to keep a small amount of it separately for this humble evening or after school snack. U might have to add a little bit of water to make adai, so it is better to keep aside some of the batter if u want to make this snack. I have used this Adai Batter as the base. Kunukku can also be made with urad dal batter. Shall post that recipe soon 🙂

Ice Creams, Summer Special
-
Pina Colada Popsicles is a creamy and yummy popsicle made with fresh pineapple and coconut milk. I had recently posted Virgin Pina Colada recipe. U can choose that if u just want to slurp it with a straw. This popsicle is like an upgrade to it, in the sense a much creamier version as we are going to enjoy it in the form of popsicle. U can make a lot of variations to this popsicle. See the tips section for options. Check my wide range of popsicle/ice cream recipes HERE.

Aglio E Olio – Italian Pasta Aglio E Olio
August 16, 2018
Pasta / Pizza Recipes
-
Aglio E Olio is a traditional Italian recipe made with either spaghetti or pasta. I recently tasted this in a Italian restaurant. It was an open kitchen kind of restaurant and the chef made the food right in front of us. So I was curious to know the recipe when we ordered this. Trust me this is such a simple recipe with full of flavours from garlic and olive oil. We just loved it for its flavours. Compared to my Cheesy Pasta recipe, this is a guilt-free recipe as not much cheese is added here. The chef just drizzled some parmesan cheese on top, but I have skipped that as well.
