Seppankizhangu is a variety of potato also known as Arbi, Colocasia, Taro Root but with a sticky nature. All I know is Seppankizhangu 🙂  This Seppankizhangu Fry is a simple side dish for rice along with sambar,  rasam or mor kuzhambu. It is everybody’s favourite in my family. I love seppankizhangu to the core. My most fav combo is with Mor Kuzhambu. Because of its sticky nature, Chotu calls this as sticky potato. Amma tempers this Seppankizhangu fry with ajwain. It gives such a magical aroma & taste to it. For another version of this try this RECIPE.

Chow Chow Fry – Chayote Fry

February 9, 2016 Chow ChowDry Sabji  5 comments

Chayote, known as chow chow in tamil is usually made as a kootu in any South Indian household. I make this Chow Chow Fry quite often than kootu. This fry goes well with roti and rice. So whenever I make this, Chotu has it with rice and we have it as a roti wrap for lunch. Two in one purpose solved right?!? This veggie takes very less time to cook and is a super easy recipe.

Do try my Chow Chow Chutney too!!

This Potato Broad-Beans fry is a simple stir fry. This is my favourite since childhood. We call this Aloo-Avarakkai. I purposely prepare a little extra & use the left over sabji to make a grilled sandwich. Yumm!! Do check my entire Potato Recipes collection HERE.

Vathakuzhambu is our family favourite. Its divine when served with hot steamed rice along with a dollop of gingely oil. The best combo would be with curd rice 🙂 My personal favourite is this Mochai Kuzhambu.
