Masala Poori – Spicy Poori
April 27, 2015 Breakfast/Dinner, Roti/Paratha
-
Poori is an Indian bread that is deep fried in oil. Masala Poori is a slight variation to it. This is made by adding few spice powders to whole wheat flour and then deep fried. It goes well with any gravy, sabji or just with any pickle too. It is ideal for breakfast/dinner. Usually when I make this Masala Poori we have it as is or with any pickle. This time I served it with Aloo Mattar Gravy.

-
Kollu known as horse gram is a brown legume which has a lot of health benefits. It helps in reducing weight and extra fats in the body. This Kollu Thuvayal is my grandmother’s recipe. There is a saying in tamil “Koluthavanakku Kollu Elachavanuku Ellu” meaning – for a fat person eating kollu will reduce weight and for a lean person Ellu will help in increasing weight.
