A very late Happy New Year to all of u. Its been a long time since I disappeared from here. Sorry about that. Hope u all had a good start to the new year. This recipe is about Red Rice Adai. A healthy mix of red rice and lentils. It is a very simple recipe to make. All u need to plan is the soaking time. No fermentation required. Can be used immediately. Adai is a favourite at home. I usually make another dosa/adai variety (batter) handy to cope the busy weekdays along with the Idli/Dosa batter. It also adds a variety to the normal boring dosa!

Adai is always welcome at home. This Godhuma Rava Adai is fully packed with fibre and protein. We are not using rice in this recipe. So thought of sharing it as a post here 🙂 Wheat Rava/Godhuma Rava/Dalia however u call it, is the HERO of this recipe. It is a totally guilt free adai and keeps us full too.

Adai is a South Indian crepe made with rice & mixed lentils. Vazhaipoo Adai is an added healthier version. Vazhaipoo has loads of health benefits. This Vazhaipoo Adai is made by adding chopped vazhaipoo to the batter. It will be crispy. We have started including vazhaipoo in our diet regularly, atleast once in a month. Chotu really likes it. Though the cleaning process is a time consuming one, it is worth the effort. Click HERE to see how to clean Vazhaipoo.

Adai is a wholesome breakfast/dinner recipe. Unlike dosa u dont have to wait until the batter is fermented. You can use it right away after grinding. This protein packed adai goes well with jaggery & ghee, coconut chutney, dosa podi or aviyal. My favourite combo is jaggery and ghee 🙂 Adding Vazhaipoo to this Adai makes it even more healthier.
