Bread Halwa – How to make Bread Halwa

March 6, 2019 Halwa RecipesHoli Recipes  No comments

Bread Halwa is a such a simple sweet to make for sudden cravings or surprise guests. I had a few bread slices that was about to get stale. So made this quick halwa and it tasted just yumm! Nobody at home was able to find out that this was made out of bread. The best part is that all the ingredients needed for this halwa will usually be able in your pantry. No fancy ingredients needed. My favourite halwa is Potato Halwa. But unlike that halwa this can be made in just 20 mins. Recipe with video… 🙂

Biryani Meal – Ennai Kathirikkai – Lunch Menu 7

February 23, 2019 Biryani/PulaoLunch Menu Series  No comments

This lunch menu is a Biryani Meal along with a gravy. Made this on a weekend. On the plate is Veg Biryani, Ennai Kathirikkai, Onion Raita(my hubby’s style) & Potato chips (store bought). This time paired it with Ennai Kathirikkai, my all time favourite combo.

This is yet another instant pickle variety and can be made in 5 mins literally. Recipe with video 🙂 Which is your all time favourite pickle? Mine is this simple Tomato Thokku

Kara Sev – Besan Sev

February 4, 2019 Diwali SnacksSnacks / Starters  No comments

Kara Sev is an Indian snack made with besan/chickpea flour. It is a crunchy, easy to make snack. Perfect for special occasions like Diwali or even as a tea time snack. Usually it is made by pressing the dough on a perforated ladle directly into hot oil. I have used a murukku press for convenience. Do check my plain Sev/Om Podi recipe too. Savoury snacks are always a favourite at home. It just vanishes very soon. So do not have to wait for a special occasion to make it. Recipe with video.
