Adai Upma – Upma with Adai Batter

September 21, 2015 Breakfast/Dinner  12 comments

Adai Upma is an easy breakfast/dinner recipe. I simply love this Adai Upma, when compared to other upmas like Aval Upma or Semiya Upma!! Whenever I make Adai , we prefer to have it for 1 or 2 servings only. After that I make this Upma which we enjoy much better than Adai. It also serves as a good use of the leftover batter. Once u try this recipe, u will prefer to reserve a portion of adai batter to make this from next time 🙂

Tomato Gotsu or Thakkali Gotsu is an excellent side dish for idli/dosa. It is a very easy and quick fix sambar kind of side dish. When u run out of time, this can be made very quickly without much preparation work. Chotu is a big fan of hot, crispy dosa and sambar. I mostly make this tiffin sambar or this tiffin sambar. This Tomato Gotsu is a nice variation to it. Chotu calls this tomato sambar.

This pairs equally well with Ven Pongal too..

Gobi Manchurian

August 4, 2015 Dals/GraviesGobi/Cauliflower  12 comments

Gobi Manchurian is a popular Indo – Chinese recipe. It is found in most of the Indian restaurant’s menu. This can be made as a gravy or dry version which can be had as a starter. This Gobi Manchurian is a gravy version that goes well with Vegetable Pulao, Jeera Rice or rotis/naan.

For me the biggest problem in making this Gobi Manchurian recipe is – I have to literally hide the fried cauliflower pieces from Chotu and hubby. Else by the time I finish making the gravy, there will be nothing left!!

Now to the recipe...

Mango Milkshake is one of the most popular milkshakes. We do not get good varieties of mangoes here. This time happened to get a very sweet and yummy batch of Kesar Mangoes from the Indian shop. The mangoes were really very juice and soft to handle. We enjoyed a couple of mangoes as is, some went into the Mango Icecream and the rest in this Mango Milkshake. This is a simple, thick and creamy milkshake recipe, perfect for the summer and season!!
