Aloe Vera is a wonder plant. We do have a great looking one at home, which I grow indoors owing to the cold weather here. It has antioxidant and antibacterial properties. It can be used to heal wounds and is perfect when made as an oil for hair, skin and face. So lets see How to make Aloe Vera Oil at home. I have been wanting to share this post since a long time as we use have been using homemade aloe vera oil for a long time now. It is very simple and much better than the store bought ones which may contain preservatives or chemicals. This aloe vera oil can be used for hair, face and skin. This is the first ever recipe which is not edible on my website 🙂 Do check out the video to make efficient use of the aloe vera without any wastages!

How to Aloe Vera Oil at home – Ingredients:
- Coconut Oil – 2 cups
- Aloe Vera leaf – 1
Aloe Vera Oil Recipe Method:
- Cut an aloe vera leaf. If you dont have a plant at home, try to grab an aloe vera leaf from a store.
- Wash and pat dry the leaf thoroughly.
- Slice the thorny edges with a sharp knife and discard it.
- Chop them into small pieces.
- Start heating 2 cups of coconut oil in a pan.
- Add the chopped aloe vera leaves to it.
- Make sure to keep the flame in simmer always.
- The oil will start sizzling due to the gel/sticky content present in the aloe vera leaves.
- After 8-10 mins the aloe vera leaves will start browning.
- Switch off the flame and allow it to cool down a bit.
- Strain the aloe vera leaves and keep it aside.
- Once completely cooled, store it in a bottle or container.
- DONT THROW AWAY THE FRIED ALOE VERA LEAVES. CRUSH AND APPLY ON SKIN to make the best use of this wonder plant/leaf as shown in the video.
Tips:
- Make sure to keep the flame on low from beginning till the end. It is very important. Due to the gel/sticky content of aloe vera it might splutter if cooked in high flame.
- Aloe Vera Oil is perfect for hair, skin and face.
- If you would like to grow an aloe vera plant at home, try to buy one. If not, just borrow a small part of the leaf from your friends and plant it. It will grow very easily. This is an absolute no maintenance plant that comes packed with numerous benefits.
