Beetroot is not my favourite. Hubby & Chotu love it though. I usually make this Beetroot Fry for chapathi/rice & love this Halwa!. This time I made this Beetroot Pulao as an one pot meal. It was perfect & quick for a lazy weekend. The lovely colour will attract kids and people who do not like beetroot like me will not make a big fuss! Moong Dal Khichdi – Dal Khichdi

July 20, 2017 Bachelor Friendly RecipesRice Varieties  3 comments

Moong Dal Khichdi is a recent favourite! I really loved it when we had it in a Rajasthani restaurant in Chennai. The flavours were subtle and the khichdi’s consistency was more like a porridge, making it just melt in the mouth. This one is quite different from the Dal Khichdi which is made from moong beans. Its a kids friendly recipe. Am in the look out for some one pot meal when I run out of time. This suits perfectly. All u need is to saute a few ingredients and cook it along with rice and moong dal. Thats it! Yummy and simple meal will be ready in no time! All the bachelors out there would find this very handy and useful 🙂

Coconut Rice is a simple and yummy lunch box rice variety. It can be made in just 15 to 20 mins. Not much cooking skills are needed to make this. In the sense, it is perfect for bachelors. Am not a big fan of variety rice, but once in a while I like to have it. Puliyodharai is an exception though! Coconut Rice and potato fry is an unbeatable combo! In fact I would say it is the default combo at home 🙂 Finally not to forget that this Coconut Rice tastes very flavourful when made with freshly grated coconut.
