Pasta in White Sauce is one recipe that used to be in the order list whenever we eat outside @ Pizza outlets. After trying it at home, we stopped ordering as homemade pasta tasted even better. It can be customised to our taste buds as well. Am sure this creamy pasta is a kids favourite and an easy to make recipe for bachelors too.

Now to the recipe…

Ingredients:

  • White Sauce – 1 cup (Click here for white sauce recipe)
  • Pasta – 1 cup
  • Onion – 1 sliced
  • Capsicum – 1 ( I used 1/2 of each color)
  • Oregano – 1 tbsp
  • Pepper powder – 1 tbsp
  • Olive Oil – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – as needed

Method:

  • Cook pasta in hot water along with salt, until it is soft but not mushy. Keep this aside.

  • Heat a pan with oil and saute the sliced onions & capsicum until they are half cooked. Add white sauce to this, mix and let it cook for a minute or 2. Add water if the white sauce is very thick.

  • To the above mixture add cooked pasta and mix so that the pasta is coated well with the white sauce. Finally add oregano & pepper powder and mix. Switch off the flame.

Tips:

  1. I have used penne pasta, U can use any shape.
  2. U can add other vegetables like sweet corn, olives or mushrooms.
  3. U can add chopped garlic before u saute onions. I skipped this step as I have added garlic in my white sauce.
  4. U can add chilli flakes before serving for a spicier version.
  5. U can garnish with grated cheese before serving.
