I have become a fan of Mexican food recently. This Guacamole is my favourite so far. I had this a couple of times in a restaurant and wanted to try at home. I always used to stare at the avocados whenever we went shopping. Nothing came to my mind except for this milkshake. Now I really love the fruit and this dip. Got this recipe from a cook book. Its a very simple, no cook recipe. All u need to do is to scoop the fruit and add a few ingredients. Refreshing and yummy dip will be ready in no time.

Moong Dal Khichdi

July 20, 2017 Bachelor Friendly RecipesRice Varieties  3 comments

Moong Dal Khichdi is a recent favourite! I really loved it when we had it in a Rajasthani restaurant in Chennai. The flavours were subtle and the khichdi’s consistency was more like a porridge, making it just melt in the mouth. This one is quite different from the Dal Khichdi which is made from moong beans. Its a kids friendly recipe. Am in the look out for some one pot meal when I run out of time. This suits perfectly. All u need is to saute a few ingredients and cook it along with rice and moong dal. Thats it! Yummy and simple meal will be ready in no time! All the bachelors out there would find this very handy and useful πŸ™‚

Rava Dosa had been in my to-do list since a long time. I usually make it for dinner, so could not click the pics due to poor lighting. As its summer now and the day light is extended until 10 pm, its comfortable to click pics even when I make it for dinner. The trick of making the perfect crispy & lacy Rava Dosa lies in the correct batter consistency. Have shared a video as well as tips to get it right. I have made it as a plain one. U can make it as onion rava too. The best combo for this would be coconut chutney.

Veg Quesadilla – Vegetarian Quesadilla

June 23, 2017 Snacks / Starters  2 comments

Veg Quesadilla or Quesadilla – Until last month (during our India trip) I had no clue on what this Quesadilla was. All I knew was “Kaise kaise bhi ho, acha hai ye paratha” hahahahaha. Do u recognise this dialogue? This is what Sridevi said about it in the movie English Vinglish. Even then I was least bothered to know about it & was just glued to her expression in the movie. Now back to the recipe, my BIL (brother in law) made this for us and it was just yumm!! Especially Chotu, his tummy got expanded to fill in some extras! Β Infact even mine πŸ™‚

Bisi Bele Bath

June 21, 2017 Rice Varieties  2 comments

Bisi Bele Bath is a speciality of Karnataka. It is quite similar to our Sambar Sadham except for some changes in the masala! I so so love both the versions! Its such a breeze to make. U can have it with a simple papad as it is loaded with veggies and does not need any side dish as such. I prefer to make this on a weekend as we love to have it hot! And also the consistency is best when served hot & fresh.
