Method:

  • Take 2 tbps of butter in a microwave safe mug. Microwave for 10 seconds until melted.

  • Add 1 egg and 2 tbsps of honey to it.

  • Add vanilla essence to it. Mix it well so that all the ingredients combine well.

  • Add 2 tbsps of sugar to it. I have used brown sugar. Add self raising flour to it.

  • Mix until all the ingredients are combined. Microwave it for 2 mins. Check it with a tooth pick. It must come out clean.

I just topped it with butter and a drizzle of honey!

Tips:

  1. U can use plain flour instead of self raising flour. Use 1/8th tsp of baking powder if using plain flour.
  2. If u want to omit egg, use 1/4 cup yogurt instead.
  3. I have not greased the mug before baking, just enjoyed it as is. If u want to serve it separately, grease the mug with a little butter/oil and then bake.
  4. It took 2 mins in my microwave (850 watts). Timings may vary based on the power of your microwave.
  5. Do not over-bake the cake. Else it will become hard and rubbery.
  6. This cake will rise while baking, but will not overflow. U can use a mug or any microwave proof bowl/ramekins.
  7. It might look sticky when hot, let it cool for a while and enjoy!!
