June 5, 2018 DrinksSummer Special  One comment

Strawberry is not a fruit that I fancy eating much, just because they are sour most of the times. But love the look and flavour of it. So always transform the fruit into a sorbet or popsicle as I have already done. This season made a simple Strawberry Milkshake which is a very easy & yummy milkshake with very few ingredients. This is a thick and creamier milkshake as I have used ice cream as well. U can skip the ice cream if u dont prefer it. Also made Strawberry Ice Cream, recipe coming soon πŸ™‚

I have been craving for some kulfi since a long time. As mangoes are in season made this Mango Kulfi. This is a short cut version of the traditional method with condensed milk and cream. Saw this recipe in milkmaid website and tweaked it a bit to arrive at this recipe. Trust me this is so easy and can be made in a few mins. But the boring part is to wait for it to freeze/set. Its worth it! πŸ™‚ The smell of mangoes along with cream and cardamom is divine! Do check my simple Mango Ice Cream recipe too..

It is scorching summer in India and it is fairly warm here too. Beginning this summer season with a simple drink or rather I would say it is a coolant. Much needed for the season! This White Pumpkin Juice or Ash Gourd Juice is a perfect drink to keep u hydrated. White Pumpkin known as Vellai Poosanikai/Thadiyanga in tamil is usually used to make kootu. Homemade Rosemilk – With Homemade Rose Syrup

April 27, 2017 DrinksSummer Special  4 comments

Rosemilk brings back a lot of childhood memories. We used to make Rosemilk with Roohafza syrup. Am not sure if that is still available in the market. As a child, I thought that was Homemade Rosemilk. Trust me, making Rose Syrup at home is not a big deal. Moreover it does not contain any preservatives, making it a much better option than the store bought ones. I made Rosemilk Popsicles earlier. U can make this Rosemilk and pour it in popsicle moulds and enjoy too. If u ask me, I would not be patient enough to let it freeze and would simply slurp it with a straw πŸ™‚

Panagam – Panakam – Rama Navami Recipes

April 3, 2017 DrinksSummer Special  2 comments

Panagam or Panakam is a traditional drink made especially on Rama Navami. It is a Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Lord Rama. As Rama Navami falls on the 5th of April, thought of posting this traditional recipe. This is a child hood favourite. My grandma used to make this for her daily pooja as a prasad, especially during summer time. It is a perfect thirst quencher too. The addition of cardamom and ginger powder gives a divine taste to it.
