Paneer Pakoda – Paneer Pakora

June 12, 2016 Holi RecipesPakoda RecipesPaneer DishesSnacks / Starters  11 comments

Pakodas always have a high demand at home, am sure it is the same in every household. This Paneer Pakoda is an easy and tempting pakoda variety. I totally forgot to use a litre of milk and realised it only when it went overdue the expiry date. It curdled upon boiling which was what I expected!! So I added some curd and made it as paneer/cottage cheese. Make sure to check that the paneer is not sour. If it is please do not use it, if it tastes good continue to use it.

Pakoda is always our family favourite. This Oats Pakoda adds an additional healthy twist to the normal pakodas, due to the hero of the recipe “Oats”. Though deep fried, it is actually ok to have such addictive snacks once in a while. Besides oats having a sticky nature, this Oats Pakoda will be crispy, light and airy. This is a perfect after school snack too.

Vazhakkai Chips – Raw Banana Chips

April 3, 2016 Snacks / StartersTamil New Year RecipesVazhakkai/Raw Banana  8 comments

Vazhakkai Chips is an easy snack to make at home. I had been wanting to make Vazhakkai Chips since a long time. Unfortunately, the raw banana that we get here has a slight fruity flavour, may be because of the transportation time. But this time, it was really good so immediately made a batch of chips and it really vanished in no time. Not much effort is needed in making this, u just need to peel, slice, fry and season the Vazhakki Chips with salt and chilli powder.

It is yet another simple snack to be enjoyed during monsoon or any weather for that matter with a hot cup of tea or coffee. I had this Corn Pakoda with hot Masala Chai.. It was absolutely divine!! So if u are like him, do not underestimate this pakoda by its looks!!

Rice Pakoda – Rice Pakora – Rice Fritters

June 18, 2015 Pakoda RecipesSnacks / Starters  23 comments

I am always in the look for some evening/after school snacks. This Rice Pakoda had been in my to-do list since a long time, or to be precise since I tried Idli Pakoda. It is quite similar to it with a few minor changes as I did not want to have the same taste. These Rice Fritters were so easy to make, crispy from outside and soft inside. Perfect snack with a cup of coffee!! I bet nobody will be able to find out that it is made of rice. In fact I used a bowl of left over rice

So this recipe is a double dhamaka – perfect use of left over rice and a yummy snack in just a few mins!!

Mozzarella Sticks – Homemade Cheese Sticks

May 17, 2015 Kids BaySnacks / Starters  23 comments

Cheese is a favourite among kids and even adults. Chotu just loves the Mozzarella Sticks that we get in Domino’s. It is one of our family favourites, among the limited vegetarian options that we are left with.. I have always wanted to try to make these cheese sticks at home, but was a little skeptical to try as I felt the cheese would ooze out and would turn into a disaster. I saw this recipe in a cook book and was really convinced to try at home, since it was mentioned to freeze the mozzarella sticks before frying. It did come out well and was a super hit at home.

It is...

Vadai is a popular South Indian snack. This Keerai Vadai is a perfect tea time snack. Its crispy outside and soft inside. Usually in the local tea shops they make it as masal vadai/paruppu vadai (with chana dal). I prefer it with urad dal as Chotu likes the Medhu Vadai best!! So I am more than happy to make this as I can add some spinach leaves to it  Its the best snack to have on a cold/rainy day over a cup of coffee or tea.

I love cutlets, be it with mixed vegetables or just with potato. Wanted to try something different and made this Bread Cutlet. The actual reason was I had some left-over bread that was about to expire 😉 I did make good use of them and it was a super hit 🙂 This bread cutlet was crispy outside and soft inside. Additionally to look attractive I made them in  shapes specially for Valentines Day

Idli Pakoda – Yes u read it right!! This recipe is about Idli Pakoda, made with left over idlis. Usually when I make idlis, atleast 4-5 idlis will be left over.
