Kambu Dosai – Pearl Millet Dosai – Bajra Dosa

March 8, 2021 Breakfast/DinnerDosa Corner  7 comments

Kambu is a millet variety, known as pearl millet in english and bajra in hindi. It has a very unique flavour and aroma by itself. As a child, I never used to like this Kambu Dosai. But now-a-days I love these kind of recipes. To my surprise Chotu also liked it. Unlike me, he is a good child 🙂 This Kambu Dosai does involve grinding/fermenting like the normal dosa. It is a much healthier option than the normal dosa. Post updated with video..

Rava Dosa had been in my to-do list since a long time. I usually make it for dinner, so could not click the pics due to poor lighting. As its summer now and the day light is extended until 10 pm, its comfortable to click pics even when I make it for dinner. The trick of making the perfect crispy & lacy Rava Dosa lies in the correct batter consistency. Have shared a video as well as tips to get it right. I have made it as a plain one. U can make it as onion rava too. The best combo for this would be coconut chutney.

Pesarattu Dosa – Moong Dal Dosa

May 10, 2017 Dosa Corner  No comments

Pesarattu Dosa is a very popular breakfast recipe from Andhra Pradesh. It is very healthy and nutritious as it is made from whole moong beans. I learned this recipe from a friend. I tried it for the 1st time and we all loved it. It is a very flavourful dosa variety. One more to the Dosa basket 🙂 Unlike the normal Dosa we do not have to ferment this Pesarattu. The only planning to be done is to soak the moong beans the previous night or for 8-10 hours.

Making Idli-Dosa Batter at home is a very common job that I do almost every week. I have been receiving a lot of requests for this recipe. Especially, after I made a round up post of 15 Chutney Varieties on Facebook, people went really wild with me!!

This post had been lying in my drafts for a very long time .I wanted to make a video of grinding the batter to show the consistency in a better way and kept on postponing it. And now finally made it!!

Black Urad Dal Dosa – Karuppu Ulundu Dosai

February 21, 2016 Breakfast/DinnerDosa CornerTirunelveli Style Recipes  14 comments

Karuppu Ulundu Dosai is an added healthy twist to the normal dosa. It is made with black urad dal i.e urad dal with skin. I normally prefer to make Ulutham Paruupu Satham with this karuppu ulundu, but it is quite difficult to trick Chotu because of the colour. So I make this Karuppu Ulundu Dosai to sneak-peak black urad dal. It tastes almost the same as normal dosa. The only difference is again the colour, but it is manageable with him
