Idli Pakoda – Yes u read it right!! This recipe is about Idli Pakoda, made with left over idlis. Usually when I make idlis, atleast 4-5 idlis will be left over. Chotu loves pakodas especially Cabbage Pakoda and Palak Pakoda. So I tried this Idli Pakoda to impress him. Chotu could not even find out that idlis were hidden in it. I never told him as he hates idlis. Hehehehehe π

Bread Upma is an easy, yummy snack that can be made in a jiffy. Though this recipe does not appear in my kitchen often, when I have left over bread, the first thing that comes to my mind is bread upma. Rather than toasts or sandwich I prefer this as it is a typical Indian style dish. U can serve this as breakfast or snack.

Being a vegetarian, we do not have much options while eating out here. Cheese and Onion is the most, sometimes the only combo as far as any pastries, sandwiches or pies are concerned.. I got the idea of making this Cheese and Onion Paratha from that and it turned out awesome. Chotu just loved it, so am sure it would be a hit among kids. Its simple and quick to make too..

May 19, 2014
Bachelor Friendly Recipes, Podi/Powders
-
Paruppu Podi is an essential podi variety in any South Indian household. I would say, this is the simplest & quickest podi/powder. As u know homemade is the best, I try to stock this paruppu podi, but every time I make a batch it gets over in 2-3 days π We not only have this with rice, but also with dosa, idli, chapathi etc so no wonder it gets over..
It tastes divine when served with hot steaming rice & a dollop of ghee along with papad. An addition of any kootu variety would be a feast.

Sambar Sadam / Sambar Rice is an easy one pot meal. This is a simpler version of Bisibelebath and is less spicy. It is a flavorful mixture of rice, dal and mixed vegetables cooked in tamarind extract along with freshly ground spices. It tastes great when hot or cold making it a perfect lunch box item. The best combo would be with potato fry or raw banana fry. It tastes good even with papad.
