Paal Kesari – Milk Kesari

September 21, 2017 Navaratri SpecialSweets/Desserts  One comment

Paal Kesari or Milk Kesari is a simple South Indian sweet. I made this for the 1st day of Navaratri (today). Perfect for this festive season and for sudden cravings/guests. It is very similar to the normal Rava Kesari. The addition of milk gives it a magical taste. It tasted more like a halwa! The needed ingredients are always available at home. All u need is 15-20 mins. Do check my Semiya Kesari & Aval Kesari recipes too.

Red Capsicum Soup – Roasted Capsicum Soup

September 19, 2017 Soups  One comment

Soups are recently in demand at home, since the weather has started changing. Its getting really cold. I feel, a hot bowl of a filling soup in the evenings is a better alternative to tea/coffee. Later a light supper/dinner would do, to finish the day. This Red Capsicum Soup had been in my to do list since a long time. I usually prefer the green and yellow peppers as I feel the red ones have a slight fruity flavour. But the red ones served best in making this soup. It was so flavourful. The colour is very attractive to tempt kids as well.

Beetroot Chutney – Beetroot Coconut Chutney

September 12, 2017 Chutney RecipesSide Dish for Idli/Dosa  2 comments

Beetroot Chutney, the very name is so unique.. I am not a big fan of beetroot, all I end up making is this simple poriyal or this soup! My favourite is halwa though 🙂 I can’t think of anything else. I had some beetroots sitting in the fridge and did not want to make the same old dishes as above. So made this chutney, though I was skeptical in the beginning. Trust me it tasted so good! Went on well with idli, dosa and even with hot rice.
