Today is a special day for MyMagicPan!! It is MyMagicPan’s 3rd blog anniversary!! I just can’t believe it’s 3 full years already!! Blogging has always been fun, in fact most of the times addictive. There have been times when I plan so much for MyMagicPan rather than other important things 😉 especially when we go on a vacation.  Whatever may be, my blog has kept me busy and happy/proud!! I might be repetitive, but it is so true that it has given me a whole new identity!! All of your comments, feedbacks, phone calls, messages & pictures truly overwhelm me!! A HUGE HUGE THANK YOU to each and everyone of you to have supported me all these years & for encouraging me in the future as well!!

Kollu Sundal – Horsegram Sundal

September 29, 2016 Navaratri Special  4 comments

Navaratri is around the corner. This Kollu Sundal is a flavourful and easy sundal to make during Navaratri. The only planning needed to make this sundal is to soak kollu/horsegram overnight. After making the Kollu Rasam, for which I used only a little portion of the cooked kollu, I made this Kollu Sundal. It was so flavourful and filling.

Do check my full collection for Navaratri HERE !!

Pachai Payaru is nothing but Moong beans. After posting Mochai Sundal, I wanted to post a sweet sundal. This Pachai Payaru Sweet Sundal is an easy and yummy sundal. Sundal is an important part of Navaratri. With very few ingredients this can be made very quickly.

To my surprise, Chotu just loved this!! He did like the Mochai Sundal, but this one I had no hopes as he does not have a sweet tooth like me. But looks like his taste buds are changing now. 🙂

Mochai Sundal – Field Beans Sundal

October 12, 2015 Navaratri SpecialPillayar Chathurthi Recipes  7 comments

Mochai known as field beans in english is my favourite. Unfortunately we do not get fresh ones here. So have to use these dried field beans. This Mochai Sundal is a healthy, flavourful and yummy sundal for Navaratri. This can be had as an evening snack too. A small bowl of this and a glass of milk would be really filling for kids after coming back from school. My friend Rani generously gave me a box of this field beans she had got it from India. Thanks to her!!

I was actually wondering if it would be good enough like the fresh ones, but the moment it got cooked the whole house was filled with a wonderful aroma!!

This Badam Kheer is one such rich and creamy dessert that appeared in my kitchen for no reason  Though I have tasted it many times, never tried at home during recent times. It can be made with less effort too. The only job in this is to soak and peel the almonds. If u can get blanched almonds like me, this is a super-easy and quick treat for sudden cravings!!

I love any kind of payasam, or any sweet for that matter. Moong Dal Payasam / Paasi Paruppu Payasam is a very easy South Indian payasam (kheer). As Karthigai Deepam is on Dec-5th, thought of posting this payasam recipe. My version of Moong Dal Payasam is with coconut milk. It is very flavourful and just tastes divine.
