Tomato thokku or Thakkali thokku is a simple side dish that goes with chapathi, poori, idli, dosa and the list goes on…. It’s my favorite since child hood. This thokku along with Poori would be the default menu that I would ask Amma to make on my birthday. Carrot Kosambari is such an easy and healthy salad recipe. Its low calorie and full of nutrients. It is usually made during Rama Navami. I remember being served in some marriages too. All u need is to plan and soak the moong dal ahead of time. Then it can be made in a jiffy. With very few ingredients this is a guilt-free and delicious salad. It can be accompanied with steamed rice too.
