Chotu prefers these snacks rather than the store bought junk foods. Though these are addictive i would’nt mind as they are home made. 🙂  Am sure your kids would love these too.. Paal Kova / Sweet Milk Kova / PalKova

October 24, 2013 Diwali SweetsGokulashtami RecipesSweets/DessertsTirunelveli Style Recipes  3 comments

Paal Kova is a popular and traditional South Indian sweet. The best place to get the authentic Paal Kova is from Alwarthirunagari. The process of making is simple, but it is a time consuming recipe. The taste is worth spending so much time.. I would suggest to use a heavy bottom pan, so that the milk does not get burnt at the bottom. U can leave the milk in simmer, stirring it in intervals. When I make Paal Kova, I plan it such a way that am in the kitchen (cooking something else too) so that u need to spend your time only making this. U can try this 10 Min Palkova if u cannot spend much time.

Peanuts are very healthy. This Peanut Sundal is yet another easy sundal variety for Navratri, with a dash of amchur which is nothng but dry mango powder. Karamani Sweet Sundal – Navaratri Recipes

October 5, 2013 Navaratri Special  No comments

As Navaratri has started wanted to begin with a sundal variety. Navarati is a festival dedicated to the worship of the Hindu deity Durga. Sundal is an ideal dish during Navaratri. This Karamani Sweet Sundal is an easy sundal variety made with Karamani. Other names are Lobia or Black eyed peas.  U can serve this as a snack too rather than just during navaratri days. While most of my sundal varieites would be salted/spicy versions this sweet one is my favourite. Do try my Peanut Sundal as well which is yet another protein-rich sundal.
